    Heather’s Got Wings!

    As I have told people about this new focus on my art in my life, I have heard some really interesting comments. One of the ones that struck me the most was “Heather’s got wings!”, so of course I had to try to figure out why that hit me so strongly. My first reaction was to smile and laugh as the idea of taking flight was delightful.     Reflections of my life in my work

    As I have been going through some of the exercises that Tory has set for me in the past few weeks, part of this process has involved looking back over my work to analyze what I am succeeding with and where I need to do more work.     Turning the Page

    Tomorrow is my last day as a full time IT consultant and at my current client. I am excited about what lies ahead for me and am happy with the progress I have been able to make in laying a solid foundation for this tremendous move. At the same time, it is sad to reflect on what I will not be doing for my project, my team, my company, my friends. I have always believed that being a bridge between the business and the technical parts of an IT team is an undervalued yet hugely critical part of my role.     I have watched Bonnie Bishoff‘s work over the years and have seen it in person at the Racine Art Museum’s polymer exhibit. I love her colors and innovative ways of hiding her support structure as well as the way her clay creates images and designs on furniture.
